Happy Monday everyone, I hope everyone has a great week! This Monday is certainly less Mani(c) for me then the past two weeks have been! For this installment of Mani(c) Monday I bring you the super easy drag mani. To do this mani all you will need is three complimentary colors and a tool to drag with. I used the smallest tip on my dotting tool set but a pin or even a small paper clip will do the job.
To start you need to quickly paint three stripes on your nails, then repeat this step to build up the color. Before the color dries take your dragging tool and pull the tool through the three stripes. You can add as many or as few lines as you like. You can also make wavy or zigzag lines. I found that the more drag lines the nicer the color blends. Finally add a good top coat and your drag lines will smooth out. Easy enough right?
For my drag mani I first used OPI Who the Shrek are You?, from the Shrek Forever After Collection. This lacquer is a fabulously smooth lime green creme. I really would never wear this color alone but it works well for accents and under shatters.
For the second of color I used OPI Mermaid's Tears, a sage green creme from the Pirates of the Caribbean on Stranger Tides Collection. Even though this lacquer is a pastel application is still very smooth and dries brush stroke free.
Lastly for the third stripe I used OPI Funky Dunkey, also from the Shrek Forever After Collection. This lacquer is one of my favorite purples, it's the truest purple lacquer in my collection. Application for the lacquer is also smooth but if you were going to wear this shade on its own it would need three thin coats. For top coat I used OPI RapiDry.
Do you think this type of mani is something you would try? If so, what colors would you like to use?
Disclosure: This lacquer was purchased by The Lacquer Factor.
