Happy Friday everyone! Today's lacquer is from Nicole by OPI's Something About Color Fall 2011 Collection. It's not me, It's Blue is a gorgeous steel gray blue shimmer with an amazing hint of gold fleck. Depending on the lighting this shade can even look purple. To me this color is unusual and I love that I can't remember seeing or owning anything like it before.
Application for this lacquer is tricky. It's a thin polish and in order to reach opacity I fear I may have needed five coats. Below I used two thin and third generous coat and in intense lighting I could see some thinner patches. I did find this polish too thick to be a top coat. I think it would work best with a white base coat. I still love this color though.
Because I can't leave anything alone, I added a coat of OPI Red Shatter. I love the formula for the Red Shatter even though I don't use it often. It's almost jelly/sorbet like and it's much easier to work with and more forgiving than the Black Shatter.
Could you see yourself rocking this lacquer? Do you know of any dupes?
Disclosure: This lacquer was purchased by The Lacquer Factor.
