Fabulous Friday everyone, I hope your weekend plans include a little time for yourself (maybe to paint your nails)!! If you haven't tried OPI Mermaid's Tears yet, you should. From the Pirates of the Caribbean Collection this blue based sea foam green creme has a smooth application and dries glossy. When I first saw this shade Pirates weren't the first thing that came to mind, then it hit me...Ocean!
To exaggerate an Ocean theme I wanted to create some abstract waves and what better way to do that then to layer blue hues over Mermaid's Tears with some free forming dots. For the first layer I used OPI Blue My Mind, this is one of the best blues in my opinion. This lacquer is an electric cobalt blue with a hint of shimmer and its still available.
For the second blue layer I needed something lighter to catch the contrast of a rolling wave on a sunny beach. OPI No Room For The Blues fit the bill perfectly. This blue is best described as the color of the sky on a cloud free day and while the shade overall isn't unique the formula is perfection.
Disclosure: This lacquer was purchased by The Lacquer Factor.
