Spin Spin Sugar...

I wasn't planning on picking up anymore shades from the OPI Spider-man collection but how could I resist the current ULTA sale.  After seeing Call me Gwen-Ever and Into The Night in person I decided I needed them and that they would make a cute sugar spun mani.

OPI Call Me Gwen-Ever is a muted dusty orange creme.  Application is creamy and smooth and opaque in two coats.  OPI Into The Night is a metallic blue with a hint of purple.  I can't comment on the application since I didn't do a full mani with this shade.  However, I did use Into The Night to create a sugar spun mani.  To create this look use a base color of your choice and let dry.  Next make a small pool of lacquer on piece of paper or an old plastic lid.  Then continuously stir the pool of lacquer with a toothpick or a dotting tool until it starts to become stringy and tacky.  Then using the toothpick or dotting tool pull up stings of lacquer and drape them across your nail until your desired coverage is achieved.  Easy enough, right?  Don't forget to enter the current giveaway and have a great weekend!!

  1. The orange looks very pretty: so creamy and smooth. I love the way you added the blue on the orange. Very creative and well-done! :D

  2. I've heard about this technique before to achieve a somewhat splatter nail art effect, will definitely have to give this a go on my next NOTD post!

  7. I think i would of mixed the orange with a creamy white or ivory and used the sugar spun mani technique, reminds me of an orange creamsicle for summer! :D With the blue it kinda reminded me of a glamed-up tiger print ;)
